This creates a useful opening for advisors.

Questions about working longer, retiring early, correcting an earnings record, or receiving benefits while still employed can lead directly into broader retirement planning conversations.

In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll learn how earnings affect Social Security benefits, how the benefit formula works, and how to help clients evaluate decisions that may increase or reduce future income.

You’ll also build expertise around a topic that can help you engage prospects who are still working and beginning to think seriously about retirement.

Elaine Floyd

Elaine Floyd, CFP®, is Horsesmouth’s Director of Retirement and Life Planning and has spent years helping financial professionals understand the complexities of Social Security and retirement income planning.

Her work focuses on the kinds of questions that often challenge advisors most: claiming strategies, spousal and survivor benefits, coordination of benefits, and the situations where straightforward rules become considerably less straightforward when applied to real people.

Elaine is the longtime leader of Horsesmouth’s Savvy Social Security Planning program and has developed extensive advisor education around Social Security, including professional guides, presentations, newsletters and answers to thousands of advisor questions.

She has also been quoted in publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, Kiplinger’s Retirement Report and Retirement Weekly, and has presented to professional audiences including FPA and AICPA.

Reach clients before the retirement date is set

Social Security planning often starts years before a client files for benefits.

Advisors who understand how earnings affect future benefits can help clients make more informed decisions while there is still time to act.

That creates an opportunity to demonstrate value early and expand the conversation into a broader retirement plan.
